About White Vine Photography

White Vine Photography are passionate about capturing connection and honest moments. Daniel and Alexandra feel privileged to walk into spaces that only the closest of family and friends stand. They scout locations that speak to each couple’s story and style and work with all parties of your wedding day — from celebrants, MCs and family members. They are there to capture a bride’s transformation, a groom’s nervous laughter and pay attention to every light-hearted moment and every glimmer of tension in the air. They listen and respond.

As a team, they are dedicated to you and your day. Turning fleeting moments into significant and timeless moments, offering a glimpse into the mystery of your love.

Behind The Brand

How would you describe your photography style?

Detail focused, editorial and intuitive.

The alchemy in our partnership influences our photography style. We are in tune with each other. Dan’s energy leads, it is planned and structured while the energy I (Alexandra) hold is comfortable in the unplanned moments, receptive to the energy dynamic of the group and lead by intuition. Together we are able to respond to any experience on a wedding day.

We instinctively capture movements and moments which illuminate the true essence of the couple. Our passion is sparked by the excitement of discovering a new way to work with the space, the natural light, the couple.

What is it that makes an image magical?

We have this fascination with the human experience – the unique flick of the hair or posture of a person can be enough to make an image magical. The softness of the natural light falling on the neck of the bride, the moment between breaths where the world stops spinning as he waits, the fabric of the wedding gown changing forms as she moves, the dancing shadows, the rolling laughter, the honest tears. This is where we fall into awe.

Witnessing the uniqueness of love whips us into a world of inspiration. For us, what is felt in the image is primary.

What advice would you give to the camera-shy couple?

You can do no wrong. Your only job is to be here, be present with your love.

We gauge the energy of the couple. Where ever they are at, we meet them there. We provide as little or as much guidance as needed for them to relax into the experience. We remind them that the most authentic, beautiful moments unfold when they are being their true selves – we hold space for that. Every time, magic unfolds.

Do you travel interstate or internationally?

In addition to art, photography and nature, travel is our medicine. We revere in opportunities to explore new countries & cultures. To date, the countries that we have photographed weddings at outside of Australia are: Italy, Greece, New York, New Zealand, Bali & Vietnam. We are eager for more.

As an estimate, how long does your editing process take?

Working as a team we focus intently on different aspects of the business, this allows space for inspiration to take hold and oftentimes the post production editing is completed within 3-4 days. During busier times it can be 2-3 weeks.

Describe a magical moment from a wedding you’ve photographed…

We have experienced many magical moments at weddings, this is not easy to answer!

One that we can literally FEEL when we think of it – the moment we shared in Italy on a rooftop at dusk in Positano with a couple who were deeply in love. They moved through their first dance without breaking eye contact, the ambience of their love made this moment overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and the beautifully lit backdrop of Positano so magical that it feels surreal.

Editor’s Notes

Why we love it…

Timeless, elegant, romantic – White Vine’s talent lies in capturing a wedding’s most beautifully fleeting moments while portraying them in an honest, cinematic way. Their frames spill with natural light and effortless charm.

For the couple…

For the modern romantics – those drawn towards authentic imagery that exudes an old-world charm with a contemporary twist.

Styling tips…

To complement their timeless aesthetic, consider a modern take on classic theming. Opt for light, neutral tones with black or gilded accents and style with chic decor.
