Matoli is an award-winning photographer who specializes in editorial portraiture and weddings. She currently calls Southern California home but her passion for photography has taken her around the globe to capture beautiful stories and create captivating imagery.

Matoli creates images that are romantic, timeless, authentic, and she strives to capture the emotion and beauty of a scene in the simplest of moments. Her work is best described as storytelling with an editorial flair.

Behind the Brand

What draws you to wedding photography?

There is no other day or moment like the wedding day. It is one of the most monumental events of an individual’s life. To be a witness and most of all capture and document these once in a lifetime stories as they unfold is one of the best feelings in the world and an absolute privilege.

How would you describe your photography style?

Documentary, classic and leaning heavily on an editorial approach. Every love story is different, but I maintain the same foundation in my approach. My goal is to tell each couples unique and beautiful love story, encompassing all the moments of the day and celebration.

What inspires you creatively?

I find inspiration in everyday life; music, film, the smell of fresh rain on the sidewalk, a glass of wine, leaves blowing in the wind. Inspiration is all around us and I constantly harness my experiences as they influence my approach to photography in unexpected ways.

What is it that makes an image magical?

Photography is very subjective, but one foundation of every image is light. It is the one ingredient that elevates every image. Light and how it is captured can evoke a myriad of emotions and that’s what is most magical about an image.

What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?

Choose someone who’s images make you feel. You will be faced with an amazing selection of talented photographers, but most of all, you want to select someone with a portfolio that elicits an emotion from you and images that you can picture being part of your love story.

Your dream location to shoot a wedding?

I would love to explore more of Europe and also dream of capturing a culture immersed wedding in Bali.
