A Floral Design studio based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, specializing in floral design for weddings, events, set design, and editorials. Founder Edénique de Beaumont is excited to share her passion for florals with you.   

Her interest in art, fashion, architectural & interior design contributes to each custom and unique floral design she makes. Behind The Brand

What was the spark for Edénique Floral Design? Where did your story begin?

When I was 13 years old, I started to work behind the scenes in a Dutch flower shop in the picturesque city of Maastricht. Wiping floors and cleaning buckets was a daily routine until I was experienced enough and allowed to help customers. From then on my passion for flowers started to develop and flourish. When everybody thought I would continue my law study I followed my heart and started to work and learn more about flowers and interior design.

After gaining experience and cultivating tools that I taught myself about the intricacies of being a florist, I discovered the town I grew up in wasn’t providing the space to explore my creativity. I soon moved to Amsterdam where the city at large brought my vision to life. In only 5 years, my business grew a very distinct and recognizable style, keeping my personal touch while caring for my customer’s wishes. Being able to work with my hands and follow my passion was the best step I made.

 

Where do you draw your creative inspiration from?

Fresh flowers give me inspiration every day. Everything from the beauty of nature; art, fashion, architecture & interior design have inspired my floral arrangements. I am always challenging myself to use different materials in my designs like fabric or food and bring together the unexpected.

 

What advice do you give brides when choosing their wedding flowers?

Enjoy the process and stay true to yourself. Trends are nice to follow, but it’s even better to create your own.

 

What style of floristry and flowers are you loving at the moment?

I love to experiment with dyeing flowers in lovely colors to create edgy and unexpected creations. People often need to look twice and can’t believe the flowers are fresh. These kinds of surprises always make me smile.
