About The Line of Sun

Inspired by the patterns and textures found in nature, Alice works with the ancient technique of lost wax casting. A process whereby each piece is carved in wax, cast in precious metals and then sanded and polished to finish the piece. Precious stones are set directly into the wax, making them appear buried deep within the metal and also ensuring they are incredibly secure. This sculptural practice means a great deal of texture can be created to form organic objects that will become modern heirlooms.

Alice’s process is of constant experimentation and evolution, in hopes of creating unique pieces that celebrate the marks of the maker.

Behind The Brand

Describe the woman you design for…

My pieces are designed for the modern woman searching for something full of texture and just as unique as she is.

What is your most popular style for brides?

Solitaire black Australian Sapphires and Salt and Pepper diamonds are currently my most requested styles. Most of my work is either variations on existing styles or completely bespoke pieces.

What styling tips do you have for brides, bridesmaids and wedding guests wearing your jewelry?

My advice is to always select pieces that genuinely resonate with you, rather than going with the trends.

Do you offer a custom design service? If so, how long does it take to make a custom piece?

I offer a complete custom design service, whether it’s a slight tweak to an existing design or something completely unique. I’m often blown away by the level of creativity from people who don’t consider themselves creative! Creating a custom piece can take anywhere from 3-8 weeks depending on the complexity of the project and sourcing the right gemstone. Each piece is hand-carved from wax before being cast in precious metals, making no two pieces ever the same.

What tips do you have for couples to care for their jewelry?

I always recommend removing jewelry if your day job includes a lot of heavy work with your hands. A regular polish and clean once a year will bring your piece back to brand new.
