About Songbird Silk

Songbird Silk hand dyes luxurious silk and cotton fabrics that can be treasured as an heirloom and passed on to generation to come.

Honest pieces of textured fabrics and romantic colours are lovingly created through a slow hand-made process.

Each piece will become a symbol of your wedding day. Just like the smell of a flower can transport you back to a moment in time. So will the feel of silk as it moves through your fingers, reminding you of the love and joy shared in your perfect moment of connection.

Behind The Brand

What was the spark for Songbird Silk? Where did your story begin?

I grew up on acreage and always loved the nostalgia and romance of the rolling green hills. The movement and textures of fabric inspires me in the same way as the landscapes of my childhood.

Colors and textures have an amazing way of transforming a mood or a space. Blending colors to make unique and depthy hues and watching them transform a piece of fabric is kind of like magic for me. This is what excites and inspires me to create fabrics that move and dance and come to life.

What styles and aesthetics are you loving right now?

Any soft romantic style and color is a weakness for me. I’m not really drawn to bright colors so I’m really loving the soft, earthy, natural tones that are popular right now.

What are some of your most popular pieces?

Silk ribbons with textured, feathered edges are definitely my most popular pieces. And the soft, romantic colors like blush, nude and wheat I am constantly restocking.

Are your products for sale, hire or both?

At this stage my products are only for sale.

Do you offer a custom made or a bespoke sourcing service?

Sometimes I am asked for a particular color by a bride or stylist. If I have the time, I will try to make it happen. In fact I have created some ‘accidental’ colors during these times that I have loved so much, they then become part of my product line.
