About Story of Eve

Michael Toman of Story of Eve is a filmmaker and photographer whose passion is in capturing emotive stories – stories with love, melancholy, happiness and joy – “I want you to look back at these memories and see a reflection of who you are in every frame...not literally, but the essence of who you are as people.”

With a background in editorial design, Michael has a keen eye for detail and a unique ability in capturing the moments others might miss…the tiny gestures, the hidden tear, the small moments of connection. Michael loves to travel and is fortunate to work with couples all over the globe.

Behind The Brand

How would you describe your photography style?

I don’t just document moments. I seek them out and look for ways I can capture the emotion of what’s happening at that moment in a single frame.

What is it that makes an image magical?

I love how an image creates a time machine that can transport you right back to an earlier time. It’s incredibly powerful.

What advice would you give to the camera-shy couple?

I would ask them to spend time finding someone whose work resonates with them – then, trust the photographer to create something special.

Do you travel interstate or internationally?

I am incredibly fortunate to capture love all over the globe.

As an estimate, how long does your editing process take?

The process takes approximately eight weeks.

Describe a magical moment from a wedding you’ve photographed…

Choosing just one moment is such a difficult task as it’s always the little things, the imperfect moments or the small gestures missed to most people that are the most special. As a father of three girls, I always get a little emotional watching the Father of the Bride walk his daughter up the aisle – it gets me every single time.
